Things that are happening at Crossroads
What is Bible Engagement?
The Bible tells us, "the word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. It cuts all the way through, to where soul and spirit meet, to where joints and marrow come together. It judges the desires and thoughts oF the heart" (Hebrews 4:12) The Bible is where we learn to hear God's voice.
Bible engagement is a way of meaningfully interacting with the Scriptures in order to learn what God is saying to us through His Word. We are excited to be a part of this fall emphasis Engage the Word as together we PRAY, READ, REFLECT, and RESPOND.

Join the effort to reach our troops. Give the gift of God's Word to a military man or military woman for only $25. This includes a Military BibleStick, an MP3 disc of the entire New Testament along with response card for service members to have New Testaments and KIDZ Bibles sent to their families. http://www.faithcomesbyhearing.com/military/military-outreach The Military BibleStick is a digital audio player that is pre-loaded with a dramatized recording of the entire New Testament. Chaplains from every branch of the military are flooding Faith Comes By Hearing with requests. Over 123,000 of these Audio Bibles are now in the field. Over 700 chaplains use Military BibleSticks in pre-deployment briefings, counseling sessions, Bible studies, weekly chapels and other spiritual services.
About 3.5 inches long and less than an inch thick, these pocket-sized Audio Bibles are field-friendly with a low-key design which reduces visibility for use in low-light situations.
Here's what they are saying about the Military BibleStick:
"Time and time again I have been thanked by soldiers who received the BibleStick, I've seen countless Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines requesting these Bibles to go into their ruck sacks so they can listen while waiting to go on missions. Thank you so much for helping this chaplain to spread the Gospel to our service members. God Bless You!"
"The BibleStick has been a great tool," said a National Guardsman who recently came home. "During our Iraq deployment, we had six troops come to Christ and another 15 baptized. I was able to supply them all with the BibleStick."
An Army chaplain serving Airborne troops wrote, "I use the BibleStick when doing PT (physical training). What a blessing it is! I want to share this with my soldiers so that they may do the same."
An Army chaplain who recently returned from Afghanistan said, "One Soldier stated that he couldn't get a particular story out of his head [and] found himself thinking about it all day."
"Thank you very much," said one chaplain in Iraq. "I have received some of these while we have been here, and they flew off the shelves. Many people listen to Scripture while they are at work to keep their minds off the 'groundhog's day-ness' of the mission. I just put in another request for 100."
Another chaplain wrote, "I saw God use these tools to reach our men and women deployed to Afghanistan. Since my deployment I have moved to a remote site in Europe. There are no ‘English speaking' churches outside of the chapel. Again, God is using the Biblestick to reach people far from home with the Good News. Thank you so much for making these available to our Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen worldwide. God is using you!"
