Agreed Statements of Belief

The following are foundational beliefs Nazarenes hold firm to be true:

We believe in one God – revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

We believe that the Old and New Testament, given by plenary inspiration, contains all truths necessary for salvation and Christian living.

We believe that humanity is born with a fallen nature, and is in turn, inclined to evil, and without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ humanity will be separated from God for eternity.

We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for all people; and whoever repents and believes, by faith, in the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and saved from the dominion of sin.

We believe that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Holy Spirit testifies to this inner work in the believer.

We believe that our Lord arose from the tomb, ascended to heaven, will return, the dead will be raised first and those alive will be caught up in the air with them, and the final judgment will take place.
